The narrative and symbolic aspects of images are the focus of my work. Using drawn, painted or photographic images, along with layers of encaustic medium, I create visual statements with both personal and public meanings. My work deals with the interaction of the natural and human realms, both sacred and profane, and the often hidden, and evocative forms of flora and fauna. The works evoke the enigmatic nature of a dream, and imply emotional, psychological or spiritual states.

| Images of the northeast. Light and color permeate my work. I am interested in the play between representational imagery and the more abstract qualities of color, mark making, and form. Color for me is a way to simulate light, create atmosphere and express the vitality of a place.
